Print and Canvas Options
The term “Giclée” term is used to describe a sophisticated inkjet printmaking process that creates the highest quality fine art reproductions. More specifically, giclée printing offers extra-fine image resolution, helping retain a higher degree of detail from the original artwork.
Your print should last well over 100 years in optimal conditions, though please note that any print which is located in direct sunlight is likely to fade over the course of time.
A heavy-duty Fine Art paper with a slightly textured finish. The velvety matte surface is optimised for high-contrast prints. This vegan certified paper has a warm white hue and provides a perfect surface for reproducing original artwork accurately, retaining as much detail and accuracy of colour as possible.
My custom canvas prints are produced using a 12-colour Giclée print process for a museum-quality finish. They are then hand-stretched over a wooden frame, which is milled with a curved profile - this is to help minimise contact with the face of the canvas, preventing impression marks and surface cracking.
Each corner is then folded tightly over each edge and fixed with staples to the frame. The frames are finger-jointed create corner tension and help resist warping. For larger sizes, wooden wedges are added to each corner to ensure the canvas surface remains taut and allowing for easy re-stretching in future.
The stretched canvas is then framed in a wooden box frame. The thin frame sits approximately 5mm from the edge of the canvas helping to create a statement floating border.
With proper care, your canvas print will last and retain its vibrant colour and clarity for 100+ years.
